Peace Stars
December 2008
For the holidays, the kids made Peace Stars. Each star has what each child thinks makes peace.

What can you make with 100 cheerios? (besides breakfast)
Jennifer's class found out:

Animation!
Some of the older kids made flip books during summer school in 2005, and there is a whole page dedicated to them: Fast connections, Slow connections,

There have been a couple of field trips so far this year, and one of them was to go see some bees! The kids then made these drawings of the life of bees.

A buzz buzz.. A buzz buzz..

Another field trip was to Laurelhurst Park, where Marna's class sketched landscapes and geese. Then they colored them with watercolors.

Here are some pictures from Jennipher's students. These look great when light hits them from behind!

And finally here's some new ones from Cheryl's class...

These are drawings the kids drew to illustrate parts of the book Because of Winn Dixie that they thought were important.
